The city of Spring Grove is of Norwegian descent, founded in 1852, and has the unique distinction of being the `Nordmennenes Land", the first Norwegian settlement in Minnesota. The Norwegian heritage and language are still evident as you walk the streets and talk with the people of Spring Grove.

Spring Grove takes great pride in fine city parks. One has a  campground, playground equipment, and shelters for private and organizational gatherings. If you are careful, you may happen upon some trolls! Viking Memorial Park, has a beautiful gazebo, Syttende Mai Hus, historic Lion and recently placed Viking bronze sculpture "Quest".

Since 1895 our own special pop is bottled right here in Spring Grove, with ten great old-fashioned flavors.

There are many organizations in the Spring Grove area that, through their hard work and dedication, carry on the tradition of making this community the best it can be. The school district continues to serve children with dedicated teachers, and with great programs, including the arts.
